are you including the books that were written by female
writers, such as Margaret Millar and Elisabeth Sanxay
Holding, that could be classified as female noir, with tinges
toward the gothic atmosphere and not much of violent action
or hardboiled posing? They have, in almost all of them, a
female protagonist.
Other writers in this area might include Ursula Curtiss,
Helen Nielsen
(who had also her hardboiled moments), Charlotta Armstrong
and Patricia Highsmith. Surely there are others.
