Re: RARA-AVIS: Thanks again, Mr. Harrington / Anne Of Green Gables . . . Noir?

Dear Mr. Borgers,
  Of course I've enjoyed myself.
It struck me like lightening, while I was sitting here at my mansion on the Cote d' Azur,
(Near John Grisham's place, I can almost see the gun towers at Tom Clancy's manse. I was able to buy the former Rothchild mansion Villa Ephrussi on the royalties from just one of my novels.)that "Anne of Green Gables" is perhaps THE masterpiece of Noir Fiction. How could we all have missed this for so long? I urge everyone on the list to study the novel and get back to me please. M. Perhaps you can take a copy to Tijuana with you? This should start immediate friendships at the "Midnight Rodeo" as most people working there will have read the novel and can help tease out the hidden meaning.
It so obvious Anne's sexual identity, at the beginning of the story, is key. Was she really a boy! Oh, if only Jim Thompson could be here to see the fantastic conceit of this author, to pretend this was, well, just a warm-hearted story for children! Hah! Never was there anything so chiaroscuro, so bleak as that "sweet" seeming idyll. (What do all the cows really mean?)
I've got a call into several producer friends to pitch this new "take" on "Anne of Green Gables".
Rara, please feel free to cast this as I get to work on the screenplay. I am already nervous about who should play Anne. Jolie "springs" to mind!
Mr. Lau are you out there? A seasoned hand may be required here. I've got to run my assistant, Ms. Black, says I've got several call backs already.

I would like to join my thanks to those already expressed here, for your patience and kindness in answering all our questions on this list.

Its also good to know that you will still have an eye on the Avians; knowing youre still with us is certainly an increased richness for this list.

And, do not be afraid: Noir dissertations and confrontations are not the essence of the list. We can do the same for cats (as youve seen), hard-boiled, and pre-casting of certain films& But you already know all about us now.

Many thanks again.
