NB:With a cc. Directly to mr.T, in cade my message do not go through the List

There's a magnificent dog "character" in Crumley's "The Last Good Kiss", that follows the PI in all the bars, and drinks as much as his elected master…

In fact the idea, IMO is coming from a novel by Jonathan Latimer, never short of a good idea and irony. One of the novels of the Bill Crane series, where a dog drinks as much as the bunch of anti-prohibition activist he pictures as heroes in the series.

More passive: Kat Colorado owns a cat, in the series by Karen Kijewski about this female PI who evolves quite often in the HB territories.

Marlowe's cat in the film TLG, is a tribute to Chandler, a real cat lover who owed at least two consecutive feline companions (he spoke often about them in his Letters)
