To perhaps take noirs in the opposite direction made by the
tropical noir thread, I thought of cold. A rara-avian (Harry
Hunsicker?) recommended the noir books by Jenny Siler. I
recently enjoyed reading ICED set in Missoula, MT, over
Christmas. Meg Gardner, is a hardbitten, resilient young lady
with a raw past. I'll get to the others soon, I hope. You
might like them for a change of pace.
Are there other noirs from up north?
On Michael Connelly, one aspect impressing me is his mass
appeal. My wife's (all ladies) reading group made THE LINCOLN
LAWYER one month's selection. What a talent.
