was a great movie.
Reminds me of THE BIG SLEEP. Bogart and crew were great, but
the bedsheet-ripping, sexually repressed Marlowe we all know
and love from the books definitely wasn't the wink-wink
nudge-nudge dick cutting a wide swath through all those babes
(the cabbie, the bookseller, Vivian, etc.) in the
flick.
If the G.I.s oversea had known what that Marlowe was planning
for their gals, they may have reconsidered enlisting.
