RARA-AVIS: Re: old hard-boiled

Thanks for your answer on my question about the pioneers of hard-boiled gangster novel! Probably W.R.Burnett was the first. But D.H.Clarke have also one book about New York's underworld
- "In The Reign of Rothstein" (1923). I don't know is it hard-boiled novel or documentary essay?

I started to make the list of hard-boiled fiction writers. I concentrate attention on writers of old hard-boiled school ("Black Mask" magazine's contributors and others writers of pulp and paperbacks in spirit of "Gold Medal" series), including the forgotten and half-forgotten names.

This page is not yet completed and missed some names (Day Kin, for example, but suppose to add). There are doubts about some authors. For ex. E.S.Gardner and his series characters from 'Black Mask' (such as Ed Jenkins, with soft adventures in spirit Raffles and Lupin). Any remarks are always welcomed. Vladimir
