I've only read DEADMAN starring the PI Eddie Dain and COME MORNING (which has the mountain climbing scenes miker refers to, I believe). CM is about the prisoner discharged from San Quentin and gets in a diamond caper. I recall liking it. I can't weigh in on Gores' Kearny projects but CASES sounds good.
