If possible, I'd recommend reading 32 Cadillacs before Cons, . . . The latter has a lot of characters who were introduced in the former. I'm not saying the book doesn't stand on its own (I'm currently about half way through), but I think you'll get more out of it if you've read 32 Cadillacs.
