A more than fair price!

Of the John D's, A BULLET FOR CINDERELLA is probably the best. I've not read CRY HARD, CRY FAST, but have heard less than complimentary remarks about it. The other two are T. McGee adventures -- not bad, if you don't mind the sermonizing.

A friend, the novelist James W. Hall, claims that LA BRAVA is the best thing Leonard ever wrote. He used to use it in his writing classes (back before he started writing novels himself) to illustrate how to do this and that. Leonard made a lot of fun of him for doing so, he claims. Again, I've not read it, but I trust Jim's judgement.

Anything by Ross MacDonald is worth a look for his use of prose. His plots are horribly repetitive, but he writes so well that it almost doesn't matter.

Brett Halliday is uneven, but always entertaining.

Nice haul. PB
