Both Bill and Doug mentioned CHINAMAN'S CHANCE as essential
Ross Thomas. I concur, but then all of the Durant/Wu books
are terrific, as are those featuring McCorkle & Padillo.
That said, I'd like to suggest that BRIARPATCH and THE
SEERSUCKER WHIPSAW are essential Thomas, too.
And for sheer kick-out-the-jams fun, I don't think you can
beat THE EIGHTH DWARF. PB
