It's a disturbing trend that goes beyond books; for example,
more and
more classical music recordings are released in Europe but
not in the
United States - we are apparently considered a secondary
market. The
hype about "globalization" seems to have had the opposite
effect in the
culture businesss. We are now forced to buy overseas, at much
higher
prices, what used to be routinely available here.
