RARA-AVIS: International Polygonics

DOUGLAS GREENE (dgreene@odu.edu)
Tue, 24 Nov 1998 09:47:30 EST In answer to a query or two, about IPL (International Polygonics)--I was a
"Series Consultant" or some such title--the firm declared bankruptcy a few
years ago, and stopped publishing or reprinting books--with one
exception: they did a second printing of a book Bob Adey and I
edited, DEATH LOCKED IN.

The books, however, remain available--distributor is Independent
Publishers Group in Chicago.

I had a call a few weeks ago from the publisher, Hugh Abramson, who
told me that they would be out of bankruptcy by the end of the year,
and they plan to start publishing new books again in 1999.

IPL always had a fascinating line--primarily reprints of otherwise
difficult to find books, such as those by Jonathan Latimer, but also
some first edtions, including ones by E. Richard Johnson and George
Baxt, and (hem) books edited by me (moi, qui vous parle, as
hardboileders are wont to say).
