Brennan's "Levitation" still one of the best horror vignettes yet written, and he came close again frequently...Leffing is certainly better reading than many of the psychic investigators of the WEIRD TALES school, very much including the most popular of those, Seabury Quinn's Jules de Grandin. If not quite as good as Manly Wade Wellman's Silver John the Balladeer.
