RE : RARA-AVIS: Jack O'Connell's The Resurrectionist - a long silence...

This one is an author I overlooked since long.

I recently discussed with the French Editor of a specialist imprint, Rivages/noir, who confirmed that he could not understand why O'Connell was not better known in France.
He sees him as one of the great American noir authors.
At the same time, he told me that O'Connell thought many times of dropping the whole thing, but was always encouraged by Ellroy to continue to write.
It was Ellroy who introduced the novels of O'connell to Rivages, years ago.Untill now, three of them where translated.

Maybe the mood of O'Connell facing what he thought was a general lack of recognition, explains his long silence before his recent novel ?
