I've read 7 or 8 Connelly novels, mainly from later in his
career, and I have to agree about both of these books. I
think "Chasing the Dime" is probably the weakest of the ones
I've read, and "City of Bones" might be the best. I tend to
prefer the straight Harry Bosch stories, though "The Lincoln
Lawyer" seemed quite successful in a different way. I think
Connelly is one of the very best at what he does, and I
almost always try to read his new books as soon as I see
them. (Though I haven't read "The Overlook" yet.)
