RARA-AVIS: Re: converging plotlines

The terrific movie "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" does a nice job making fun of these cliched conventions:

1) the two seemingly unconnected plot threads that intersect 2) the obligatory thugs beating up the detective as a warning 3) everything pointing to the guilty party, then a surprise twist at the last second to point to someone else. 4) saving the girl at the last second from death

There were more of these cliches that the movie pointed out, although the bit of having the dog disappearing with the severed finger might've been original.
