RARA-AVIS: Gash and Lovejoy

Hello Everyone,

I was just curious what opinions might be out there regarding Jonathan Gash's Lovejoy series (the books, not the 1980s BBC TV series - they are two very different things.) I've read a few lately and found myself enjoying them a great deal more than I expected, Although not noir in the strictest sense, there are some interesting parallels. Lovejoy relentlessly adheres to a very personalized moral code, i.e. all things antique, and has a very 'jaded' view of the rest of the world and everyone in it.

Any thoughts?

Cheers, Harry
