And who should we see enthusiastically translating several of
Ross Thomas' books into French and singing his praises in
various review columns and essays?
Yep, you guessed right: Manchette. His last, unfinished,
toiled-over-for-years novel, LA PRINCESSE DU SANG ("Blood
Princess/Princess of the Blood" -- the play on words doesn't
translate well), was definitely in the same territory as
Thomas'. Too bad he didn't live longer to complete it. (Too
bad he didn't live longer, period.)
