I think you're right. In fact, my movie tie-in copy of Electric Sheep was retitled Blade Runner. However, there are big differences between the two. It may be sacrilege, but I enjoyed the movie a whole lot more. Of course, a lot of that is just due to personal taste. I'm into hardboiled, particularly PI books at the time I first encountered both, not much into SF and the movie owes a whole lot more to PI fiction (at the time, I even liked the much maligned voiceover, but not the changed ending, because it was in the tradition of the jaded PI voice, reminded me of Murder My Sweet). I liked the book a whole lot more when I read it a second time years later, when I was expecting the novel of the movie and after I had read other Dick, but still not as much as the movie (which I now prefer without the narration).
