It's a great movie too, and the Criterion DVD has some
excellent additional features including commentary by Barry
Gifford & George Pelecanos (both from the documentary The
Long Haul of A.I. Bezzerides)
& Alain Silver (on the film as film noir). Also a nice
interview with director Dassin. I haven't read the book yet
but have a nice mapback edition on my to read next shelf
(along with 50 other books).
