Re: RARA-AVIS: John MacDonald's colors

The answer to colors was correct in Jim Dougherty's reply: easy to distinguish if one had read it before. JDM used the example of someone hurrying to catch a plane, spotting a book rack, seeing MacDonald's books, and quickly able to determine if he had read the book before. Nothing more. Nothing less.

(It is just a coincidence that JDM used a color in a title--A Flash of Green--prior to the McGee series.)
