Saddening that while Vin Packer (Marijane Meeker) has written
her autobio, it says Very Little about her Gold Medal years,
inasmuch as it's mostly aimed at her YA fans and published
under her YA pseud, M. E. Kerr. Called ME ME ME ME ME: NOT A
NOVEL if I recall. While some of her YA novels are
lesbian-friendly, softpedalling her lesbian-novel years
probably seemed a good idea for the comfort of junior-high
librarians and such. It does mention, as I've probably
mentioned here before, that she went to college with eventual
fellow GMian Richard Matheson. TM

I found this intriguing comment by Ed Gorman in THE BIG BOOK.
Referring to Vin Packer's SOMETHING IN THE SHADOWS he
describes it as "one of the most breathtakingly cunning crime
tales I've ever come across." Given how well-read Gorman is,
that's really saying something. I gotta have it.
