RARA-AVIS: August theme: Fawcett Gold Medals

I thought the suggestion of spending a month on Fawcett Gold Medals was excellent. Thanks to those who mentioned it. Let's do that for August. I've added it to the list.

Those old Gold Medals aren't what they market now as summer reading--they're one-fifth the thickness, for example--but if you've got a lazy afternoon, what better way to spend it than with 144 pages of fast, tough action, with no words wasted? It'll be a good time to catch up on John D. MacDonald, Richard Prather, Donald Hamilton, and all the others.

Bill
