Just found and started another Matsumoto available in
English: _Inspector Imanashi Investigates_, published by SOHO
Crime, originally in 1961. So far, so good. Like _Points and
Lines_ it starts off in a Railway Station (actually on the
platform). More specifically it starts off with a reference
to a railway timetable, which is central to _Points and
Lines_.
Comparing American and Japanese police procedurals would seem
like a good way to think about cultural differences. My
impression anyway.
