Speaking, as someone did in passing, of Ross Macdonald's Lew
Archer short stories, perhaps now's the time to annoucne that
Tom Nolan has found in Macdonald's papers 3 unpublished
tales--one featuring Joe Rogers (who was also in Macdonald's
1st EQMM short, which was later re-written to star Lew
Archer) and 2 Lew Archer novelettes. My specialty press has
made arrangements to publish them as a book-- STRANGERS IN
TOWN, THREE NEWLY DISCOVERED STORIES--edited by Tom, probably
toward the end of this year or very early in 2001.
