I see Bill Crider has a sense of the absurd. I rewatched Branagh's interpretation of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" this last weekend. Reeves' Valley Girl accent slathered like ersatz Grey Poupon from Sam's Club on top of Elizabethan English was just barely short of a Jerry Lewis performance. At least Michael Keaton realized he was making a fool of himself and played it to the hilt.

Bob the Nailer, indeed. That would take someone with the stature of a Glen Campbell or a Jerry Reed.
