I also read several Frank Kanes many years ago. I remember
enjoying
them as I read them, but I recall practically nothing about
them. My
impression was also of a satisfying, but hack writer cranking
out PI
novels. Pure pulp, but nothign more. As far as Kanes go, I
preferred
Henry, although I don't recall his books very well either,
being a
couple of decades since I've read either.
My favorite Kane, however, has to be Bob, the somewhat
recently deceased
creator of Batman.
