I erased the original message, but there was mention of the
Black Lizard
reprints. Someone looking to build up a collection of good
hardboiled and
noir fiction could do a lot worse than to start buying this
series. Some
of the early Jim Thompson books, for example, aren't really
up to his
later standard, but none of the ones I've seen are duds.
Plus, they're
nice paperback editions, even if they are pricey
trades.
