Try _The Bookman's Wake_ or _Booked to Die_ by John Dunning (ex-cop
turned bookdealer tracking down bad guys and rare editions, set in
Denver) or something (earlier is better) from the Lovejoy series by
Jonathan Gash (cowardly, whinging antiques dealer getting out of
desperate situations with MacGyver-like ingenuity, set in East Anglia,
very funny). Both authors are on my Buy At First Sight list.
