Yes, I just finished Powder Burn--though I have no idea what
the title
means in relationship with the plot. It was interesting. Yes,
there is a
lull in the middle. The ending did seem...weak, though the
final twist
wasn't bad. These three novels being re-issued were
stand-alones, each
with a different protagonist. I forget the name of H's
co-author, but
from the first thirty-odd pages I've read of the China-based
book, I have
a strong suspicion that these two guys--both from the Miami
Herald--had
unfinished novels and decided to let the other guy finish
it.
