Did I miss something, then? I thought he was still employed
with the
Sheriff's dept. at the end of _Cadillac Jukebox_. As for
Bootsie and
Alafair, I happen to like both very much. They add a lot to
the books, I
think, and I would hate to see Dave fighting all on his own
without the
home life to think about.
