I think it's a fine idea.  I haven't been on any lists where this is
done, but I know several do it with great success.  (If anyone does
this kind of thing somewhere else, and there are some guidelines that
are good to follow, I'd like to hear them.)

In looking for material, we'd want books or stories that are easy to
come by and not so long as to be hard to finish in time (in time for
what would have to be decided).  I'd suggest that people e-mail me
suggestions off the list, and I'll keep track and post the titles next
week.  Then we can decide an order for the most requested ones.  We
could aim to have the first one all read by the end of the month, and
then have at it.
