Regarding the availability of _The Long Goodbye_ on video-yep! I just recently purchased a copy of this classic myself (believe it was on MGM/UA home video). In fact, when you think about it, the early 70s were really a golden age for detective and mystery films, with _Chinatown_, _Night Moves_, and _The Late Show_ among others. Nowadays, it's a struggle to get something like _Devil in a Blue Dress_ made. I wonder, why the shift? Any _Mulholland Falls_ fans out there? Director Lee Tamahori would be the perfect choice for film adaptations of James Ellroy. Craig Larson - # RARA-AVIS: To unsubscribe, say "unsubscribe rara-avis" # to majordomo@icomm.ca
