I haven't read THE KITTY KILLER CULT yet, but I recently read Smith's first book, MILK TREADING, a political thriller featuring cats vying for control over dogs and starring disgruntled writer turned journalist (and cat) Julius Kyle -- who is the "author" of KKC...

To be honest, it seemed so whacked out that I had to try it...but it works very well. Smith keeps things very deadpan and truth is, I think he's more convincing with the anthropomorphic world than is Eric Garcia with his ANONYMOUS REX novels.
