I just read PRECINCT PUERTO RICO: BOOK ONE and was impressed.  I thought this was going to be a rather laid-back or quiet procedural until I hit about page 100, when the pace exploded with a daylight bank-robbbery/gunfight in the middle of town, home invasions, murders, etc, through the rest of the novel. Hard-boiled and fast-paced, this novel has whetted my interest in the subsequent entries in Torres' series.

I don't recall seeing any references to these books in previous postings, but I've been so busy the past several months that I've only skimmed the digests. Anyone else read these books? If so, any thoughts?
