Well, then you still have O'Connell's Wireless and Word Made Flesh, both highly recommended.
I admit I'm not a fan of horror, so that may explain why Drive-In didn't do it for me. I'm a big fan of the Hap and Leonard books, and the several of his crime novels I've read, along with some of his short stories.
