One can think of so many Thompson novels that could make great films. Which ones would be unfilmable? I should think Savage Night and The Criminal off of the top of my head (can't believe they keep trying The Getaway). Any other contenders?

From what I've read in Thompson's biographies, he had given Kubrick an original manuscript for them to make a movie out of, which Kubrick was supposed to have lost. I wonder if this is based on that lost manuscript?
