this was interesting and different for me. tho i used to read horror, mainly clive barker's early stuff, and i've read thomas harris up til the last one and i really liked 'blackburn' by bradley denton, i don't look for serial killer or horror much any more.
of course there's a detective in this, but i don't think that part is anything special. but the chaingaing/slob character and miller's writing at times were pretty cool. i won't be goin nuts to find the sequels, but it was worth the read.
