Oh, I completely agree! It's just *getting* them to read the book that can be a problem. I've heard (from readers) that they're wary of buying books by "indie authors" for fear that they'll suck. (As, unfortunately, they often do.) One reviewer said as much in a review of my book on Amazon, going on to say that she thought I did a really professional job for an indie author.
Talk about your backhanded compliments. :)
