That said, after seeing Leo's tour-de-force as Hughes in THE AVIATOR (he got SCREWED come Oscar time on that one), I'm convinced he can play McGee.

'Got SCREWED'? Come on! DiCaprio's performance was good, but the movie wasn't very good. Scorsese does a lot of things very well. Why he wants to remake himself as David Lean I've never understood. AGE OF INNOCENCE, GANGS OF NEW YORK, THE AVIATOR are nearly awful movies. CASINO & THE DEPARTED are wonderful. It's not very often when a great performance by an actor can save a lousy movie. I thought THE AVIATOR was lousy despite great work from DiCaprio, Blanchett, and Alec Baldwin. If the script is overblown and the directing is unintentionally funny, what can any actor hope to accomplish?
