    No. Please, no italics for any word that's in a standard English dictionary, for instance, http://www.merriam-webstercollegiate.com/. I've just spent hours removing italics from "status quo," "bricolage,"
    "de facto," and their fellow immigrants into English.
        And that dictionary has a pretty flashy definition for "noir," I see. Joy the copyeditor
