    The best book I found on Chester Himes is...in French and called ³Le Harlem de Chester Himes² by Ambroise Kompublished by Éditions Naaman, in Québec ­ 1978
    ...and curiously enough it came from a successful Phd defense at my old University in Pau, France...but that was after I left...
