    Pictures of the recently-inaugurated Vásquez Montalbán square, the opening event of the week-long Semana Negra de Barcelona, one of Spain's two big crime fiction festivals:


    I've been reading some of the coverage in the local press (including an article on a panel on crime fiction and boxing which seemed really interesting) and it seems that crime fiction is doing pretty well in Spain. New titles and authors keep surfacing and the Spanish subsidiary of Random House just launched a new crime fiction collection: Rojo y Negro. One of its first titles is by Don Winslow.
