I had a note from an old friend David Bischoff that tipped me to an interesting series of radio broadcasts called "This is Pulp" on BBC 7. Dave is a science fiction writer who has collected and traded Manhunt and similar crime digests for years. Here is Dave's note:

This week, BBC 7 radio is running a great series of short story dramatic readings of "pulp" crime stories.

Essentially, this really aren't stories from Pulp Magazines, rather hard-boiled stories from the digests.

For instance, the first one was a Jack Ritchie story from MANHUNT. The second was a Gil Brewer story.

The broadcasts are saved and put up as files that last for a week. I'd save them but my radio recorder is broken!

Started yesterday and will continue on to the end of the week.
