Got my copy of 'True Crime Detective Magazines' today -- a few days
after I odered it. Thought for a while maybe the book was genuinely
jinxed. Some great images -- deadly dames galore. The book ends in
'69. Which is a pity. Would have liked to have seen what seventies (or
for that matter, eighties and nineties detective magazines were like).
Interesting that what was considered sordid, slacious or sleazy in a
previous era (and for some still is)is somehow more acceptable when it
has the wiff of nostalgia.
