Once again, I'd like to draw the attention of all the translators and translated authors in Rara Avis to the fantastic opportunity offered by the Banff International Literary Translation Centre: a three-week residency for the translator, usually a week for the author (at the same time).

The author or translator has to be from Canada, the U.S. or Mexico. That's a lot of possibilities.

    June 8 to 27, 2009 Application deadline: February 20, 2009

The Banff International Literary Translation Centre is a three-week residency program offering literary translators an opportunity to focus on a current project, consult with experienced translators, network with colleagues in an international literary forum and, in some cases, spend time with the writer whose work they are translating. Financial assistance is available.
