Coincidentally, the excellent movie of Mosley's _Devil in a Blue
Dress_ was shown on cable yesterday. I liked it even better than the
first time.
I discovered Mosley purely by chance. I had stopped at a bookstore up
on Sunset and it occurred me to ask the guy what's new and good... and
without hesitating he showed me Devil in a Blue Dress, which had just
come out, Mosley's first book. I have since read every one as it has
come out and I've never been disappointed, whatever the genre or the
featured character. I am fond of Rawlins but even more fond of
Socrates Fortlow -- that character is a real find.
