    Bill Pronzini's introduction to the 2007 Millipede Press edition of
    "Nightfall", which I read a couple of weeks ago, says that Goodis died of cirrhosis of the liver. I see Imdb's brief bio also gives the same cause of death. Clearly a widespread misconception. On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 8:58 AM, Allan Guthrie <allan@allanguthrie.co.uk>wrote:
