RARA-AVIS: Algis Budrys, RIP, we're told

As has been noted over the years here on Rara-Avis, one of the most elegantly hardboiled of sf writers, who published some of his most important work with Gold Medal, not least in both wises his THE DEATH MACHINE, which GM put out as ROGUE MOON.

His "The Master of the Hounds" is as tough a cf story as you could want.

He had been in misearble health for some time. His real name was Algirdas Jonas Budrys, but, as James Blish once noted, Lithuanian is a thorny language.
