One thing has been bugging me for years and I thought to
ask:
was the first edition of Willeford's COCKFIGHTER a paperback
of hardcover? It was published by Chicago Paperback House,
but they boasted in the cover
(which I've seen in scans only) that it's the world's only
hardcover paperback original (or some such, I forget the
exact wording). Which one is it? And what the f**k is
"hardcover paperback original"?
(And how are the other books by Chicago Paperback House? They
have at least one title Pauline C. Smith who had lots of
stories in AHMM and EQMM.)
